Agri-Pulse Communications, Inc. is the nation’s leading e-newsletter covering farm and rural policy. Since we launched our communications business in 2004, we have experienced dramatic growth in new subscribers, as well as with the acquisition of the Webster Agricultural Letter earlier this year.Our firm seeks an Associate Editor to cover farm and rural policy issues in Washington, D.C. We are looking for a self-starter with a competitive spirit and an eagerness to tackle complex issues. This person would work out of our office in USDA’s Whitten Building and report to Editor/Publisher Sara Wyant.

A qualified candidate should have:

· A bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism or related field.

· At least three years of writing and political experience, preferably related to farm and rural policy issues.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience with online publishing.

· Experience using the Internet as a research and communication tool, as well as strong Microsoft Word processing skills.

· Ability to meet deadlines, manage time and handle multiple projects simultaneously.

· Ability to build rapport with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.

· Agricultural background is a plus, but not required.
